To locate crash files for Rust, a popular survival game, follow these steps depending on your platform:
1. Windows
On Windows, Rust typically stores crash files in the following directory:
Path: C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Temp\Facepunch Studios\Rust\Crashes
Steps to find the folder:
Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
Type %localappdata%\Temp\Facepunch Studios\Rust\Crashes and hit Enter.
You should now see crash files related to Rust.
2. Linux
For Linux, the crash logs may be located in the following path:
Path: /home//.config/unity3d/Facepunch Studios LTD/Rust/Player.log
Steps:
Open your File Explorer or terminal.
Navigate to the .config/unity3d/Facepunch Studios LTD/Rust/ folder to find crash logs.
3. MacOS
On Mac, the crash files can usually be found in:
Path: /Users//Library/Logs/Unity/Player.log
Steps:
Open Finder.
Press Cmd + Shift + G to open the “Go to folder” prompt.
Type ~/Library/Logs/Unity/ and hit Enter.
If you can’t find them in these locations, you can also check the Steam crash logs:
Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rust\RustClient_Data\output_log.txt
