Use Professional Data Recovery Software
Additionally, Panda Assistant includes specialized tools to recover specific file types, such as photos, videos, documents, and emails, making it an excellent choice for individuals and businesses alike. The program also ensures data integrity throughout the recovery process, minimizing the risk of data corruption.
Another key advantage of Panda Assistant is its compatibility with both Windows and Mac operating systems, allowing a broad range of users to benefit from its capabilities. The software provides a preview feature, allowing users to view recoverable files before proceeding with the full recovery process, ensuring they retrieve exactly what they need.

Connect the SD Card: Insert the SD card into a card reader and connect it to your computer. Make sure the computer recognizes the SD card.
Launch the Recovery Software: Open the data recovery software you installed. The interface may vary depending on the software, but generally, there will be options like “Data Recovery” or “File Recovery”.
Select the SD Card: In the software, select the SD card as the recovery source. The software will usually display a list of available drives and storage devices, and you need to choose the SD card.
Scan the SD Card: After selecting the SD card, click the “Scan” button. The software will start scanning the SD card for deleted files. This process may take some time, depending on the capacity of the SD card and the amount of data on it.
Preview and Recover: Once the scan is complete, the software will display a list of recoverable files. You can usually preview the pictures to see if they are the ones you want to recover. Select the pictures you want to restore and click the “Recover” button. Choose a location on your computer to save the recovered pictures, preferably not on the same SD card to avoid overwriting data.
Use Built-in Tools in Operating Systems
For Windows:
Previous Versions: If your Windows system has the “System Protection” feature enabled and has created previous versions of the SD card files, you can try to restore the deleted pictures using this method. Right-click on the folder where the pictures were stored on the SD card and select “Properties”. In the Properties window, go to the “Previous Versions” tab. You may see a list of previous versions of the folder. Select the appropriate version that contains the deleted pictures and click “Restore”.
Command Prompt: You can also use the Command Prompt to try to recover deleted pictures. Open the Command Prompt as an administrator. Use the “chkdsk” command to check and repair the SD card file system. For example, if your SD card is drive “E:”, you can enter the command “chkdsk E: /f”. After the check disk process is complete, it may recover some lost files. You can then search for the recovered pictures in the folder where they were originally located or in the “Found.000” folder that may be created on the SD card.
For Mac:
Time Machine: If you have been using Time Machine to back up your Mac and the SD card was connected to the Mac when the backup was made, you can use Time Machine to restore the deleted pictures. Connect the SD card to the Mac and open the folder where the pictures were stored. Then, click on the Time Machine icon in the menu bar and select “Enter Time Machine”. You can browse through the backups and select the point in time when the pictures were still on the SD card. Select the pictures you want to restore and click the “Restore” button.
Disk Utility: Mac’s Disk Utility can be used to repair the SD card’s file system, which may help recover deleted pictures. Open Disk Utility (you can find it in the Applications > Utilities folder). Select the SD card in the list of drives. Click the “First Aid” button to start the process of checking and repairing the disk. After the repair is complete, check if the deleted pictures have been recovered.
Seek Professional Data Recovery Services
Find a Reputable Service Provider: If the above methods do not work or if you are dealing with very important and valuable pictures, it may be a good idea to seek professional data recovery services. Look for companies with good reputations and professional certifications, such as those with ISO 9001 certification. You can search online for “data recovery services” along with your location to find local providers. Read reviews and testimonials from other customers to assess their reliability and quality of service.
Submit the SD Card for Recovery: Contact the data recovery service and discuss your situation with them. They will usually ask you to send or bring the SD card to their laboratory. They will use specialized equipment and techniques to recover the data from the SD card. This may involve physical repair of the SD card if there is hardware damage, as well as advanced data extraction and recovery methods.
Verify and Receive the Recovered Data: Once the data recovery process is complete, the service provider will usually allow you to verify the recovered pictures to ensure that they are intact and complete. They will then provide you with the recovered data on a storage device of your choice, such as an external hard drive or a USB flash drive.
